YouNo isn’t working?
Most problems are fixed in a minute. Start at the top.
1. Quick fixes
- Refresh the YouTube page. A tab that was open before YouNo was installed or updated needs one reload. The popup shows a “Refresh tab” banner when this is the case.
- Check YouNo is on. The switch at the top right of the popup should say “On”. When it is off, nothing on YouTube is changed.
- Check the switch you want. Search for it in the popup — for example “comments” — and make sure it is turned on.
- Try a different preset. A schedule may have switched you to a preset with that switch off. Look under Presets.
- Disable other YouTube extensions. Two extensions changing the same page can undo each other.
- Restart the browser, or disable and re-enable YouNo on
chrome://extensions.
2. Run “Check this page”
YouTube redesigns its pages often, and a switch can stop finding its target. YouNo can tell you which ones:
- Open the YouTube page where something is not being hidden.
- Click the YouNo icon, open Settings and press Check this page.
- Press Copy report. The report lists the switches that found nothing on that page. It stays on your device until you choose to send it.
3. Still stuck? Email me
Send a short note with the report from step 2 and I’ll look at it. It helps if you include:
- what you expected to be hidden and what you see instead,
- a screenshot or short video,
- your browser and version (for example Chrome 130),
- the YouNo version: 1.7.0 (shown at the bottom of the popup’s Settings).
Good to know
- Settings missing on another computer? Settings follow your Chrome profile if Chrome sync is on. Presets stay on the device where you saved them. To move your switch settings yourself, use Settings → Export settings and Import settings.
- Want to start over? Turn the switches off one by one, or remove and re-add the extension to restore the defaults.
- Leaving a review on the Chrome Web Store helps other people find YouNo.
